Our Military Kids
Assembly + Card Writing
OMK has been aiding the country's military families for over 20 years, fundraising to supply kids with life-changing grants for sports, hobbies, and passions of military families. OMK not only supplies to families living on bases with parent(s) deployed but also to families that have lost their parents, those that have been injured (both physically or undergoing mental struggles such as PTSD), and even our "weekend warriors" in the National Guard and Reserve.
These grants can be life changing, as families with deployed or recovering parents often experience large reductions in household income and these special activities are often the first to go. Help support our military families by packaging these grants and sending our letters of appreciation for their sacrifices.
Volunteering:
On 3/06/24 the first card writing session will take place during the Key Club meeting
On 3/07/24 - grant packing and cards event (1hr)
On 04/09/24 - grant packing and cards event (1.5hrs)
On 04/18/24 - grant packing and cards event (1hr)

Volunteering
Children’s Science Center
Help to spread knowledge about science and perform fun experiments with kids to help broaden their understanding of the world and how different things work! CSC holds events at schools in the DMV area and focuses the most attention on underprivileged and underfunded areas. Volunteers are greatly appreciated and we hope that you can share your time and energy with these children!
All information to volunteer is linked below on their website:

FYI: these events can be far from Briar so make sure to check the location so you don’t accidentally volunteer at schools that are 40+ minutes away.
